Bananas Body Builder

This is a great drink for body building. Wheatgerm, the most nutritious part of the wheat grain, is packed with B and E vitamins, protein and minerals. When you combine it with bananas, you get a great carbohydrate-rich drink that is boosted by the goodness of orange juice and linseed and is perfect before exercise. Linseed contains essential fatty acids that are good for the heart.

Ingredients:

30ml/2 tablespoon wheatgerm
1 large banana, chopped
130gm/4oz (a generous cup) soya yoghurt
15ml/1 tablespoon linseed (flax seeds)
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1 large orange
Mineral water (optional)
Linseed and grated lime zest, for decoration

Method:

1. Put the wheatgerm, the banana, the yoghurt and linseed in a blender or food processor.

2. Blend until smooth then scrape down the sides of the bowl.

3. Stir well.

4. Add the lime and orange juice to the yoghurt mixture.

5. Blend again until evenly mixed.

6. Pour the juice into a large glass and top up with mineral water, if desired.

7. Use the linseed and lime zest to decorate, then serve.

Makes 1 large glass

I want to know if it would be okay to add sprinkles like chocolate ones or colored ones in a banana smoothie?

They will most likely dissolve and maybe discolor your smoothie if added in the blender. I would either stir them in or sprinkle them on top.

I want to make a banana smoothie for New Year’s. I have pineapple, mango, kiwi, and banana.  Can you give me the recipe to make the smoothie I don’t know if to add water?, milk? How much ice do I put in?

Just throw it all in together, add a handful of ice and go for it. You can’t go wrong with fresh fruit– it all tastes good.

What are some good banana smoothie recipes including one for a choc banana smoothie?

My son loves this:

You will need:

about 8 strawberries, washed and stalks removed

2 ripe bananas, cut into 1-inch chunks

1 tbsp runny honey

00ml cold milk P

Put the fruit, honey and about half the milk into an electric blender and blend until smooth.

Add the rest of the milk and blend thoroughly again.

Do not over-blend or the mixture will become too frothy.

For chocolate banana smoothie, blend 1/2 ripe banana with 250ml of your favorite chocolate milk. Do not use powdered chocolate as this would make the smoothie powdery.

Anyone have any quick and easy recipes for these two as I have apples and Banana’s that need to be use up? I love cooking but I do not normaly bake cakes very often. Any other easy ideas would be appreciated also.

Apple Crumble Recipe

Peel, core, slice up 3-4 medium apples, or more if you like place the sliced apples in casserole dish or bake dish add 2-3 tbsp. lemon juice over the apples and toss to coat

Add 1/2 cup of sugar (I use a bit less than that)…-again stirring to cover /mix over the apples sprinkling some cinnamon over apples/stirring around..mixing.. in a medium bowl, add 3/4 cup flour add 3/4 cup brown sugar add 3/4 cup rolled oats toss together with a spoon add 3-4 tbsp. margarine,

Mix together with your fingers, till it becomes a crumble texture. pour crumble ontop of apple mixture add 2-3 Tsp. margarine in dollops(dropping a lil bit at a time, ontop – all over the crumble)

Place bake dish ontop of a cookie sheet bake 350F oven for 20-25min – until golden brown ontop/bubbling* let cool for 10min serve with vanilla icecream YUM* ——————————

Banana Healthy Milkshake Recipe

bananas, you can freeze when you’re ready , you can take a banana out..*it will look black-the skin).

Put the frozen banana in a bowl of cold water for about 5min…then easily peel the banana, break off into pieces..put in Blender……add a bit of Honey, some strawberry yogurt, and a bit of icecream or milk…blend..drink this fruity wonderful, ice cold (you don’t need ice cuz of the frozen bananas) healthy milkshake
