The Blood Type Diet

 

This nutrition plan was created by Peter D`Adamo, and is based on the blood types.

For people with O-type blood , the recommended diet is low-carbohydrate, low in diary products, and high in proteins from meat and fish. The specific foods that must be avoided by people with this blood type are oranges, avocados, and Brazil nuts.

People with A-type blood should not eat red meat. Fish, vegetables, and a low dairy intake are allowed. These people should also do only light exercises.

Blood type B people should eat plenty of meat, dairy food, fruits, vegetables, and some fish. People with this blood type should avoid bacon and chicken.

People with AB-type blood should combine the diets from A- and B-types blood .

A sample diet specific to A-type blood :

Breakfast should include grapefruit juice, coffee, herbal tea, water with lemon, or oatmeal with soy milk. At lunch apples, one slice of wheat bread, or a Greek salad are allowed. For lunch, a herbal tea is indicated. As a snack, people with A-type blood should eat two plums, green tea, or two rice cakes. For dinner, they may try frozen yogurt, broccoli, herbal tea, Tofu Pesto Lasagna, or red wine.

A sample meal plan for B type blood :

Breakfast should contain grape juice, rice bran cereal with banana, fluidizer cocktail, or skim milk.     What foods should I REALLY eat to lose weight with respect to the blood type diet?
    I want to try a new diet to lose a lot of weight (more than 20 lb) and eating foods according to my blood type (B) sounded interesting. Every website contradicts each other with what foods promote weight loss and which don't (eg. some sites say nuts and lentils are good for weight loss and others say its bad). If anyone knows what foods I should actually try, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

    Actually, you don't need to diet as such if you want to lose weight, the one diet that clearly delivered for me is wu-yi tea, it can be viewed in the resource box below, they have a limited number of free trials remaining, it has been reported in Reader's Digest and USA Today. I shed 25 pounds, it clearly does work!

    Um, those answers all seem like automatically generated advertising. Don't listen to them, there is no magic ingredient, or else there wouldn't be overweight people any more.

    There is no evidence for a blood type diet – that's why you can't find any consistent info.
    Unfortunately it's just good old fashioned good diet AND exercise.
    You have to do both. The trick is to not compensate when you do them. Lots of people do some extra exercise, then decide that they earned a treat and eat a block of chocolate because the run they did makes it ok. Then when the actually put on weight, they wonder why.

    I think one of the best things is to add Extra Virgin olive oil to your diet. Nuts are good and make sure you get enough dairy products. Also stay away from white breads, it's just turns to sugar.
