The New Banana Diet

http://bit.ly/thebananadiet The Banana Diet was actually created by a top-notch pharmacist in Japan who wanted to help her 31 year old fiance lose 37 lbs of fat. Being from the West, at first I thought “This can’t possibly work!”, but then I started doing a little research and I found out just how amazing a banana is!

Here are just a couple of banana facts: * Bananas contain a large amount of an insoluble carbohydrates called resistant starch. Resistant starch, taken in the right way at the right time, has been credited with initiating fat burning and melting away excess body fat

* Bananas contain enzymes that, when taken at specific times, will speed up digestion and ramp up your metabolism to levels you won’t believe

* Bananas can reduce blood pressure, give you healthy skin and hair, and are naturally heart healthy

* Bananas are one of the only fruits that you can take with an ulcer. They actually can soothe your stomach and reduce heartburn.

* While the calorie content in bananas is only 95, they contain just 0.5g fat and provide a huge wealth of additional benefits

Banana Bread-Cake

I’d rather call it a cake when it comes to banana bread due to the texture this bread-cake has chopped nuts and raisins in it.

I wanted to add chocolate chips too but that would be too much *grins* the icing is marzipan liquid by dr. oetker; love the almond flavor; however, the bread-cake itself has a slight lemon flavor; so there you go, its more tutti fruity bread cake http://indorecipe.com/index.php?option=com_garyscookbook&Itemid=100003&func=detail&id=290

Just read about it today and I wonder if anyone has had any success on it?

I read about the morning banana diet too & was shocked. I have been inadvertantly following this diet for years & it has not worked! Seriously, how can it possibly work with just a banana for breakfast, then anything you want for lunch and dinner. The good part is no dessert & in bed before midnight. THOSE are the things that will help you lose weight (but not a ton).

Japan Went Bananas For a New Diet

Banana sales have skyrocketed in Japan this summer as many are itching to try the latest fad in dieting- a Morning Banana Diet. According to leaders of Dole Japan, a leading banana importer, over the past four months, the increase in demand for bananas has been a cause raise their imports by 25 percent.

Hiromi Ohtaki, a representative for Dole Japan noted that sales for bananas traditionally will drop over the summer months, but this year, despite the increase in imports, supplies are struggling to meet the demand and Japan is struggling to cope.

The Morning Banana Diet, made popular by Sumiko Watanabe, a pharmacist in Osaka, consists of a simplistic schedule whereby the dieter eats only one or more bananas for breakfast with a glass of room temperature water. Then he or she can eat anything for lunch and dinner must be consumed by 8pm.

The Dieter must not eat dessert and all meals must be consumed by 12 midnight. Mrs. Watanabe designed the diet to increase the metabolism of her overweight husband, who, in due course lost over 37 pounds and then introduced the diet on to one of Japans largest social networks called Mixi, where it gained popularity. The diet has since become even more popular through endorsements by local celebrities.

I want to know if it would be okay to add sprinkles like chocolate ones or colored ones in a banana smoothie?

They will most likely dissolve and maybe discolor your smoothie if added in the blender. I would either stir them in or sprinkle them on top.

I want to make a banana smoothie for New Year’s. I have pineapple, mango, kiwi, and banana.  Can you give me the recipe to make the smoothie I don’t know if to add water?, milk? How much ice do I put in?

Just throw it all in together, add a handful of ice and go for it. You can’t go wrong with fresh fruit– it all tastes good.

Any good tried, tested and true fluffy banana bread recipes to share?

I have about a dozen frozen bananas and am craving some yummy bbread! I find the recipe I have comes out very dense and not as good as some of the ones I’ve tried. Something almost cake like I think should do it.

Thanks!

Best results is using fresh not frozen, that’s where your problem lies.
